First Hindu temple to open soon in Oxfordshire: The first Hindu temple is going to be built in Oxfordshire, Britain. The City Council has handed over the keys of the site for the construction of the temple to the Hindu community. Kanta Gopal, wife of Dr Gian Gopal, the project's founding chairman, said it still feels like a dream. We have been campaigning for the temple for a long time. This is a big step for the Hindu community.Dr. Gopal said that this is the beginning of a new chapter. The first chapter will be completed when we say the first prayer in the building. In the second chapter we will connect it with the community. There are more than 7,000 Hindus in Oxfordshire county.
Sports pavilion will be converted into a place of worship
Oxford City Council leader Susan Brown presented the keys to members of the Oxford Hindu Temple and Community Center project at Court Place Farm, Masterton. The site where the keys were handed over was previously a sports pavilion.It has been closed for a long time. There is a plan to convert a part of it into a temple. At present the design of the temple has not been ready.
Maximum 22 temples in Leicester
Two halls will be built in the building. One will be a place of worship and the other a community hall. There are many Hindu temples in other major cities of Britain. Maximum 22 temples are in Leicester. These include Ram, Durga, Gayatri and Baps Swaminarayan temples.There are 10 temples in London including Radha Krishna, Durga, Murugan, Saibaba, Mahalakshmi, Swaminarayan and Kutch Satsang. The number of Hindu temples in Britain is said to be more than 150.
