In Jalandhar, the leader of the United Kisan Morcha, Sarwan Singh Pandher held a press conference. During this, Pandher said that on October 3, the railway tracks will be blocked for 2 hours in the country, so that people do not have to face trouble. Pandher put forward his demands in front of the government and urged the government to fulfill the demands as soon as possible.
Pandher also surrounded the Central and Punjab government regarding stubble burning and made serious allegations against them regarding stubble management. Pandher has said that the Punjab government should give us our dues of Rs 28 crore. Otherwise we will take further steps.
He said that our front has 12 demands. Which includes many demands including MSP. The government should fulfill these demands as soon as possible. So that the farmers can get help.
Will block the main railway tracks in 22 districts of the country
Pandher said that a total of 22 districts have been selected in the whole country, where the most important railway tracks will be jammed. The Punjab government had claimed that we will start the purchase of paddy soon. But we do not think that the procurement will start in the time given by the government. This is because the millers do not have space to store paddy.
If the issue is not resolved, we will shut down Punjab
The millers say that they do not have space to store paddy because the central government has not purchased the previous paddy. Therefore, this issue of ours also does not seem to be resolved. If the government is seen pushing us in any way, then we will shut down Punjab. Pandher further said that we should be given the right and stable rate on other crops, so that the farmers are not troubled.
28 crores should be given with interest
Pandher said that in the season 2021-22, the outstanding amount of farmers from Phagwara Mill was Rs 28 crore, which was to be given in 14 days under the law. The government has not yet released its name. He has demanded that Rs 28 crore should be given to the farmers along with interest.
During this, Pandher said that farmers have Rs 15 crore outstanding from other sugar mills, which should also be released immediately. Regarding the production cost of sugarcane, Pandher said that the government should increase the prices of sugarcane to the farmers in the production cost price of sugarcane.
At the same time, Pandher said about the paddy crop in the markets of Punjab that the paddy crop is getting spoiled. He said that the government should take a decision on this immediately and fulfill the promise of lifting every paddy of the farmers. He said that when the time for sowing of grain crops is coming near, then traditionally, like every time, the continuous arrival of DAP fertilizer in the market in black and fake form is an attempt to give strength to corporate agencies. He said that the government should give importance to the tagging being done with DAP fertilizer and provide DAP fertilizer to the farmers at the right prices.
