In Jalandhar, farmers had blocked the Jammu, and Delhi National Highway and railway tracks to increase the rates of sugarcane, due to which 182 trains were affected. After this, on the complaint of the Railway Department against the farmers in Jalandhar, a case has been registered against two named 348 farmers in the RPF police station.
This has been confirmed by Ashok Kumar, in charge of RPF police station Jalandhar. Police have added sections 147 and 174 A of IPC against farmers. At present no farmer has been arrested yet.
The national highway jammed for four days and the railway track was jammed for 24 hours
Farmers had blocked the National Highway for four days over the increase in sugarcane rates. Due to this the commuting people had to face a lot of problems and due to the highway jam, the administration also diverted the routes.
The highway was opened on Friday evening on behalf of the farmers after the meeting with CM Bhagwant Mann. Due to this, the general public got a lot of relief. Due to the closure of railway tracks for 24 hours, 182 trains were affected and many trains had to be cancelled.
