Just before the elections in Punjab, the Election Commission transferred the police commissioners of Jalandhar and Ludhiana. The Election Commission has decided to remove Jalandhar's Swapan Sharma and Ludhiana's Commissioner Kuldeep Chahal from duty. Soon a new commissioner will be appointed in place of both the commissioners.
Election Commission wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary of Punjab
In a letter to the Chief Secretary of Punjab, the Election Commission has said that both the officers should be assigned non-election-related work. Also, the Commission has asked the Chief Secretary to provide a panel of eligible officers to fill the vacant posts in Jalandhar and Ludhiana.
DC of Jalandhar has also been removed
Let us tell you that regarding the elections, the Election Commission has also removed DC Special Sarangal and police officers of Jalandhar. Among them were the then ADGP of Ropar Range Jaskaran Singh and DIG of Border Range Narinder Bhargava.
