People have staged a sit-in protest against the administration at PAP Chowk in Jalandhar. Due to which there is a long jam in PAP. During this, a large number of supporters of Dalit society reached the spot and raised slogans against the police and the Panchayat of village Noorpur in Jalandhar.
As soon as the protest started, officers of Jalandhar City Police reached the spot and started talking to the people who had come to protest. According to the information, this protest is being held in the case of anti-Dalit activities at the Panchayat of Noorpur Chattha and the police not taking action against the accused of sacrilege.
Police did not take action against the accused of sacrilege
Adivasi Gyan Nath Purna Sangharsh Dal Qaumi Chairman (Shri Valmiki Tirth Gyan Ashram Amritsar) Joginder Singh Mann while giving information said that Dalits are being tortured in many villages in Jalandhar. About a month ago, our Granth was sacrilege in village Jalalpur, Lohia. About 60 pages of the said Granth were torn. But when the complaint was made, instead of finding the accused, the police registered a case against unknown persons and the action was not taken further.
Joginder Singh Mann said that the second village is Noorpur Chattha. In which Gurudwara Sahib Sahib of Lord Valmiki ji is on Panchayat land. This is not the only religious place which is built on Panchayat land. Many such religious places are built on the said Panchayat land. But the Panchayat complained only against the temple of Lord Valmiki ji Maharaj.
The law should be applicable to everyone
This did not happen against any other religious place. This proves that Punjab is doing injustice to the Dalit community. We say that if the law should be implemented then it should be implemented on everyone. This is our protest against the said Panchayat.
