The Meteorological Department has issued a new alert regarding cold wave in Punjab. According to which alert has been issued in different districts till 19 December. The main reason for this is the formation of a pressure area near Jammu and Kashmir bordering Pakistan and the activation of a new Western Disturbance. With this, Adampur in Punjab once again remained the coldest city in the plains. At the same time, the temperature in Faridkot has reached close to zero. The temperature here was recorded at 0.6 degrees on Monday morning.
Yellow alert issued in 18 districts
According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued in 18 districts of Punjab including Chandigarh today. Cold wave alert has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and SAS Nagar.
Apart from Chandigarh, there are 15 districts of Punjab where the temperature has reached below 5 degrees. The minimum temperature of Punjab was recorded at 4.9 degrees. Along with this, Adampur was the coldest city in the plains of the country. Where the temperature was recorded at 1.3 degrees. The temperature in Gurdaspur was 2 degrees, Fazilka 2.6, Ropar 2.1, Gurdaspur 3.5 and Amritsar 3.9 degrees.
Cold wave in 16 districts of Haryana
Cold wave has been going on in Haryana for 8 consecutive days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 16 districts. These include Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Charkhi Dadri, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Faridabad, Mewat and Palwal.
