The central government has alerted Punjab about bird flu. The government has asked the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy to remain alert. Along with this, people who are fond of eating chicken have also been asked to be careful. All the correct rules should be followed in the matter.
The Center has clearly said that the rules related to bio safety should be followed properly on poultry farms in the state. After the bird flu cases were reported in Maharashtra in January, many states including Ranchi, Telangana, Jharkhand and Bihar have been issued an alert and asked to strictly follow the National Action Plan to deal with avian influenza.
Keeping in mind the instructions, now instructions have been issued to increase the number of veterinary labs on activation of quick response teams. Following the instructions will help in preventing avian influenza. Dairy Ministry Secretary Alka Upadhyay said in a letter issued that the avian influenza virus has made its way to India.
