At Jalandhar bus stand, the temporary workers of government buses have once again opened a front against the administration. Due to which a gate rally was held by the workers today. In this front, the workers together raised slogans against the government. They say that for a long time, the demand for making temporary workers permanent was being made to the administration, but no special action was taken. That is why this front had to be demonstrated again today.
Meetings with the government have been held several times
Giving information about the matter, bus worker Chanan Singh said that many times they have raised the issue of their demands in front of the administration. Due to which they were forced to protest today. They say that many meetings have been held with the government, where the demands are accepted, but the demands are not being implemented.
For years, temporary workers have not been made permanent
The workers say that for the last 10 to 15 years, temporary workers are not being made permanent. Due to this, the demand for keeping outsourced workers on contract has been made for a long time. Contractors and middlemen should be removed and blacklisted workers should be reinstated.
Road blockade on 7th, 8th and 9th
Bus workers said that road blockade will be done on 7th, 8th and 9th April and 27 depots will be closed. During this time, bus stands will be closed. If their demands are still not heeded, then further steps will be taken.
