The effect of fog is also being seen amidst the severe cold in Punjab. Orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in many districts. People have to wait for trains for hours and are also facing the brunt of the cold wave. Fog and cold will continue to wreak havoc in 23 districts of Punjab.
The department has issued an alert of dense fog and cold day. On the other hand, the temperature has dropped in all the districts.In Gurdaspur the maximum temperature has been recorded at 9 degrees. Whereas Mohali has had a maximum temperature of 13.2 degrees. Along with this, the department has advised people to drive slowly and not to go for walks etc.
Actually, cold wave and fog are continuing in Punjab for the last several days. The cold wave has left people shivering. Therefore, a large number of people are preferring to stay in their homes. Due to cold winds, the day temperature in Punjab is falling by 8 to 9 degrees Celsius.
Dense fog alert till January 6
According to the Meteorological Department, the area of cyclonic winds remains over Haryana and its surrounding areas. For this reason the weather in Punjab will remain dry and there is no possibility of rain. At the same time, there will be dense fog in the state from January 3 to January 6.
