Chardham Yatra started on 10th May on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. An accident took place in Uttarkashi on the very first day. In which two devotees died of heart attack. The pilgrims who died were returning after visiting Yamunotri Dham. The police have taken the bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. The roads leading to the temples were filled with thousands of devotees visiting the Kedarnath temple.
According to the information, Ram Gopal (71) of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh and Vimala Devi (69) of Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh have died. SHO Santosh Singh Kunwar has confirmed this. He said that Panchnama action is being taken.
