Cold is going to increase in Punjab in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, no major change has been seen in the weather of Punjab and Chandigarh. But after a week the weather will start getting cold. But people may have to face problems due to air pollution.
Punjab's AQI crosses 300
According to the Punjab government, there has been a 16 percent decline in the burning of stubble this year as compared to last year. So far 1,638 incidents of fire in the fields have been recorded in Punjab.
Last year till October 23, there were 1,946 incidents of fire in the fields in the state. But during the last 24 hours, the AQI of many cities of Punjab crossed 300. Therefore, patients suffering from serious respiratory and heart diseases have been advised to take precautions.
Amritsar remained the most polluted
If we talk about the districts of the state, then the most polluted air has been of Amritsar. AQI in Amritsar has reached 446. After that, Ludhiana was 326, Mandi Gobindgarh 322, Jalandhar 318. The least polluted city was Patiala, where the AQI was up to 124.
