So far 49 people have died due to fire in a building in Mangaf, Kuwait. More than 50 people are said to be injured. According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, most of the dead were Indians. About 42 Indians have died in the accident.
Foreign Minister Jaishankar spoke to Kuwait's minister
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke on phone to Kuwait's Foreign Minister Ali Al-Yahya. Kuwait has assured that the matter will be investigated and the culprits will be punished. Jaishankar has appealed to send the bodies of those killed to India as soon as possible.

After this incident, India's Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh has reached Kuwait. He told that the bodies were burnt so badly that they could not even be identified. Many dead bodies were found on the stairs of the building. Indian Air Force aircraft is standing ready to transport the dead bodies.
Order to arrest the building owner
Kuwait Times reports that Kuwait's Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah has ordered police to arrest the owner of the Mangaf building. More than 195 people were living in the building.
