In the last three days, maximum 100 people have lost their lives in Uttar Pradesh. 69 people died due to heatwave in Bihar in the last 3 days. About 40 people died in UP-Bihar on Friday. Of these, 25 are employees and officers deployed on Lok Sabha election duty.
Highest number of deaths in Rajasthan
In the last 4 days, 60 people died due to heat in Rajasthan, 37 in Jharkhand, 18 in Odisha, 2 in Madhya Pradesh and one in Delhi. 1,326 people are admitted in hospitals in Jharkhand. At many places, there is no space left in heatstroke wards.
Western disturbance active in Punjab
Due to active Western Disturbance in Punjab, people have got some respite from the heat. Light drizzle may be seen in Punjab on June 3 and the weather may be pleasant. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in 19 districts of the state today. There is a possibility of heatwave in 3 of these districts. There is a possibility of rain and strong winds in the remaining parts.
