Today the whole of Punjab has been closed for 10 hours. This bandh has been called by the farmers' organizations. In such a situation, during this time, all roads, railways and shops will remain closed. Punjab bandh has been announced to get their demands accepted, including MSP, 13 demands. Traffic services have also been disrupted due to the Punjab bandh. The United Kisan Morcha (SKM) (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha had called for a bandh last week due to the Center not accepting the demands of the protesting farmers.
These areas of Jalandhar were affected
Lohian, Shah Kot, Naitpur, Toll Plaza Shah Kot, Phillaur, Mehatpur, Dhanowali, Jalandhar Cantt, Bhogpur, Adampur are also closed in district Jalandhar. Due to this, the roads have also been jammed.
Traffic also affected
The bandh has been announced from 7 am to 4 pm. Due to this, the movement of vehicles on Patiala-Chandigarh National Highway has also been affected. Apart from this, farmers will also gather at the Golden Gate of Amritsar and have blocked the roads at Rampura Pool in Bathinda.
150 trains cancelled
The protesting farmers have also made preparations to block the railway tracks at many places. Due to this, Northern Railway has decided to cancel 150 trains. These trains include 3 Vande Bharat Expresses including between New Delhi and Vaishno Devi and New Delhi to Andaura station. Apart from this, the distance of Vande Bharat running between Chandigarh and Ajmer has also been reduced.
These services will remain open
Emergency service will continue during this shutdown. In such a situation, no ambulance will be stopped. Medical stores will also remain open. Also, flights will continue to run from the airport. Wedding people will not be stopped and students giving exams will also not be stopped.
