The 149th Shri Baba Harivallabh Music Conference is going to be held on 27, 28 and 29 December in the premises of Sridevi Talab Mandir, Jalandhar. To share information about this conference, Shri Baba Harivallabh Music Mahasabha held a press conference at Jalandhar Press Club today. On this occasion, President Purnima Beri said that before this conference, music competitions will be held on 23, 24, 25 and 26 December, after which this conference will start which will last for three days.
She said that as always, many great artists will showcase their art in this conference. President Purnima Beri expressed displeasure with the government and said that the society used to get a fund of 30 lakhs from the Punjab Tourism Department as usual, but this time it has not been received, due to which there is a lot of trouble. She said that earlier while being an MP, Sushil Rinku was promised 10 lakhs and former Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh had promised to give a grant of lakhs of rupees, which has not been received yet and the results are also not coming.
Purnima Beri said that this is the first time that the society has not received government funds, due to which for the first time they have had to ask for support from the public and sponsors. She said that the total expenditure on this conference is Rs 50 lakh, which has become very difficult to raise this time. Purnima Beri appealed to the people to definitely attend this conference every day, especially on the 28th, so that the Governor of Punjab, who is coming as the chief guest on that day, can give a good outline of this conference, because we expect some help from the Governor in the form of money. Purnima Beri said that the general secretary of our society and Punjab tourism advisor Deepak Bali is constantly in touch with the government so that the pending funds can be released, but there is no hope yet.
