Patiala's Sambhu Railway Station ex-servicemen have sat on strike against the Central Government demanding a One Rank One Pension. The soldiers demand that the government should implement it as soon as possible. Due to this strike, trains going to Delhi, Jammu, and Amritsar have been affected.
Ex-servicemen were going to protest against the Central Government in Delhi to fulfill their demand for One Rank and One Pension. But on the way, the Haryana government stopped the ex-servicemen by barricading them. Due to this the ex-servicemen have started protesting on the railway track at Sambhu railway station and blocking the trains.
More than 250 ex-servicemen sat on strike early in the morning
Early in the morning, about 250 ex-servicemen sat on strike at Sambhu railway station, but gradually thousands of ex-servicemen from other cities reached Sambhu railway station. Heavy police force has been deployed at Sambhu railway station. Ex-servicemen say that their protest will continue until the central government fulfills their demands.
Farmers also blocked the railway track
In Jalandhar and Amritsar, farmers had blocked the railway track with their demands. In Jalandhar, farmers had protested regarding the rate of sugarcane. Whereas in Amritsar, farmers had blocked the railway track alleging fraud in the Bharat Mala Project.
