The Supreme Court directed Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning in the high-profile drugs case. The court has ordered him to appear on March 17, 2025 at 11 am. Along with this, it has been directed that if the investigating team requires, he should appear on March 18 at that time also.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court urged Majithia to fully cooperate with the SIT. Which is investigating the case on the basis of the 2018 report of the Anti-Narcotics Special Task Force (STF). The next hearing of the case will be on March 24, 2025.
This order came at a time when the Supreme Court was hearing a petition filed by the Punjab government seeking cancellation of Majithia's bail, which was granted by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on August 10, 2022.
