An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, who was going to take charge after his first posting in Hassan district of Karnataka, died in an accident. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Harshvardhan. The accident happened on Sunday evening. Police said that Harshvardhan, a 2023 batch IPS officer of Karnataka cadre, was a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
Tyre of the car burst
On Sunday, the 2023 batch officer was going from Mysore to Hassan in an official car. But 10 kilometers before Hassan, the tire of his car burst. After this the driver lost control of the car. During this, the car first hit a tree on the side of the road and then stopped after hitting a house.
Died during treatment
In this accident, Harsh Bardhan suffered serious head injuries, after which he was taken to the hospital. From here he was shifted to Bangalore, where Harsh Bardhan died. The driver has suffered minor injuries in the accident and his treatment is going on.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed condolences to the officer's family. He said, 'Sad to hear about the death of IPS officer Harshavardhan in a horrific accident near Kittane border of Hassan-Mysore highway. It is very sad that such an accident happened when he was going to take charge of the IPS office. I pray to God that Harshavardhan's soul rests in peace. My condolences to the family of the deceased.
