Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) held a meeting in Chandigarh today. In this meeting, the resignation of Chief Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has been rejected. Along with this, it was also decided that all the members will try to persuade him again. This was the first meeting of SGPC after the removal of Jathedars.
Attempts have been made to persuade
Efforts have been made to persuade SGPC Chief Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami earlier as well. But he had refused to take back his resignation. He had said that he would not take back his resignation. SGPC members have also visited his house regarding this.
Resigned for this reason
Harjinder Singh Dhami had resigned from his post a month ago. He took this decision after former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh criticized the way Giani Harpreet Singh was removed from the post of Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on social media.
