The doors of Shri Hemkund Sahib located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand will be opened for devotees on 25 May this year. The Uttarakhand government and the Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust have announced the date of travel to this holy pilgrimage site. Under this, the first batch will leave from Rishikesh on 22 May.

The journey will start from 25 May and end on 10 October

Narendra Singh Bindra, President of Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust, gave this information after meeting Chief Secretary Radha Raturi. Let us tell you that this journey will start from 25 May and end on 10 October. Due to which devotees will get about five months to visit the holy pilgrimage site.

To enhance the beauty of the journey, the trust has organized a special event on 22 May, in which eminent personalities from religious and social fields have been invited.

Religious Importance of Hemkunt Sahib

Shri Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara and the holy Him Sarovar located near it are situated at an altitude of 15,200 feet above sea level. It is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites of the Sikh community. Along with this, according to religious belief, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh Ji attained spiritual knowledge by doing rigorous penance at this place.
