Dense fog has engulfed Delhi-NCR in the morning itself. Due to this, the visibility has also reduced considerably due to which the speed of vehicles has come to a halt. Flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport have also been badly affected. Due to the fog, flights could not even land. Last night also a dozen flights were diverted towards Jaipur.

These flights were diverted

IndiGo’s Bangalore to Delhi flight 6E-818, IndiGo’s Bhubaneshwar to Delhi flight 6E-2024, IndiGo’s Nagpur to Delhi flight 6E-2652, IndiGo’s Mangaluru to Delhi flight 6E-2344, IndiGo’s Mumbai to Delhi flight 6E-651, IndiGo’s Hyderabad to Delhi flight 6E-647, SpiceJet’s Mumbai to Delhi flight SG-710, SpiceJet’s Siliguri to Delhi flight SG-901, SpiceJet’s Guwahati to Delhi flight SG-159, SpiceJet’s Chennai to Delhi flight SG-458 have been diverted.

International flights diverted from Jaipur

An international flight has also been diverted towards Jaipur. Vietjet Air’s flight VJ-895 from Hochiminh City to Delhi and a charter flight from Bangkok to Delhi have been diverted. These flights were diverted to Jaipur from 12 am to 2 am. After 3 hours, 7 flights were sent back to Delhi. 4 flights and 1 charter flight are still stuck in Jaipur due to fog.

Trains were also late

Trains were also late at Delhi station. 18 trains arrived at Delhi station with a delay of more than 1 hour. At least 9 trains reached Anand Vihar with a delay of more than 1 hour. More than 30 trains in Delhi are delayed by more than 1 hour, Vande Bharat trains and other VIP trains are also running late. At least 24 trains from Hazrat Nizamuddin were delayed by more than 1 hour. The timing of Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat was also rescheduled. These trains are still running late. Some trains have still not reached Delhi, whereas their correct time of arrival in Delhi was 11 pm.

Get information before leaving home

The airport officials have also said that due to dense fog, the operation of flights at the airport has been greatly affected. They have also requested the passengers to first contact the concerned airline for information about flights and only then leave home for the airport.

Delhi Airport issued advisory

Due to fog, Delhi Airport had issued an advisory for passengers on Saturday itself. They said – ‘Even after landing and takeoff continue at the airport, flights that do not comply with CAT III may be affected. In such a situation, we request the passengers to contact the airline for updated flight related information. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you’.
