The Education Department has released a new mid-day meal menu for schools. According to the orders issued, this new menu will be implemented as soon as the schools open in winter.

This menu will remain till January 31

According to the orders of the education department, the new menu will be applicable till January 31 only. After this, the government can make changes in it. Earlier, a decision was taken to give fruits to the children. At that time, the department argued that this will benefit the children physically, while farmers will also benefit from it. If the prescribed menu is not followed at any place, action will be taken against the school principal.

Food is served till 8th class

There are more than 19 thousand government schools in Punjab. Where food is served from 1st to 8th class. The effort behind this is that children will be connected to the school. The department provides adequate funds for mid-day meal. Also, a record of all the food given to the children in the mid-day meal is kept.
