He further said, 'Approximately 8 lakh Canadians of Sikh heritage live here.We will always be there to protect your rights and your freedom. We will protect your community. Therefore, we are enhancing the security infrastructure programme, increasing security at community centres and places of worship including all Gurudwaras.

Trudeau stressed on more flights to India including Amritsar. Apart from this, he said that the right to practice your religion without fear is exactly the same as a fundamental right, which is guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
