Under this campaign, manual cleaning of sewers by sewermen has been completely banned.

Strict action on violation of rules

The Municipal Corporation Commissioner said that no person is allowed to descend into the sewer manhole without full safety gear. Sewer cleaning will be done only with machines. If the person violates the rules, strict action will also be taken against him.

Helpline numbers have also been issued

Apart from this, he also told that the general public can also contribute to this campaign. If someone around them is seen cleaning the sewer without safety equipment or if anyone has any problem related to sewer, then information can be given on the helpline number or the phone of the Municipal Corporation office. He said that posters and flexes have also been put up in the city for awareness so that people can be aware of the rules and precautions related to sewer cleaning. During this, the Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation was also present.
