An encounter has taken place between a criminal trying to escape from police custody and policemen in Amritsar. According to the information, the criminal was trying to escape from police custody. However, during this time the criminal got injured during the encounter. At present, the police has arrested the injured accused and admitted him to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

According to the information, the police was bringing back the accused arrested in a case registered in Chheharta police station after recovering the weapon. But on the way, the accused Jagroop Singh, resident of Talwandi Mohar Singh Patti, stopped the police vehicle on the pretext of vomiting and snatched the pistol from the policeman. As soon as the accused tried to fire on the police party, the police opened fire. In retaliation, he was shot in the leg, due to which the accused was seriously injured.
