In Punjab, a clash was seen between the police and farmers in Gurdaspur over land acquisition for the Delhi-Katra Express Highway. The farmers accused the officials of forcefully occupying the land without informing them and not giving proper compensation.

Information was not given before land acquisition

Farmers say that the administration has violated the process of land acquisition. Because neither the officials informed them before acquiring the land nor the entire process is being followed. Farmers’ lands are being forcibly taken away.

Farmer leaders made it clear that this movement will continue till their demands are met. They have demanded proper compensation from the government and said that the process of land acquisition without consent should be canceled.
